This is the kit that Bolivia’s national team wore at the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay…

That’s right. Bolivia turned up to the first ever World Cup in Uruguay in a specially made strip that paid homage to their hosts and dear South American neighbours with a lovely bespoke message spelled out across the teams’ chests.

Strangely enough, one of the guys with a ‘U’ on his chest disappeared for the second photo – with hi-i-i-i-larious results…

Come on Bolivia, no one likes a suck-up.

Of course, while Uruguay went on to win the inaugural World Cup on home soil, Bolivia were the definition of abject, losing 4-0 in their first two matches and exiting the tournament before they’d even had a chance to pull their noses out from their hosts’ collective backsides.
