Newcastle United Launch New Puma 2014/15 Away Kit – Grey As The Fog On The Tyne (Photos)

Newcastle and Puma have revealed their new away kit for next season, inspired by sickly sausage rolls, dirty old snack bars, the fog on the Tyne and the silvery/grey kits worn by the likes of Toon legends Peter Beardsley, Chris Waddle and Paul Gascoigne back in the mid-1980s.

A nice little detail that caught Pies’ eye is visible in the photo above, with the words “Newcastle United Football Club 1892” featured in the subtle pin-striping on the shirt, which will be worn for the first time on May 11th for the Toon’s last game of the season, away against title-chasing Liverpool.

Pies’ verdict: Bit on the bland side, hardly memorable, but a smart enough kit all the same.

That’s the kind of grey you can only get in Toon. Glad to see Puma have taken on Blackpool’s kit surplus from last season and recycled them into the keeper’s clobber.

  2. Captain Obvious says:

They look like goalkeeper’s kits. Perhaps krul will wear an outfield kit from this season as his 14/15 strip. #weareallkeepers

    Hardly inspirational stuff, is it?

    The colour….No…no-no-no!
