After revolutionising the football boot industry upon its launch in 1994 and staying on top for the next two decades, Adidas finally retired the Predator – along with all the other staples of their boot stable – earlier this month in favour of revamping their silo with two completely new designs: the ‘X 15’ (left) and the ‘Ace 15’ (right)…

According to the patter, both boots have been designed to “enhance every aspect of the footballers game” and will come in at a cool €200-a-pop.

The X 15 is the ‘speed boot’ of the two; designed for ‘gamechangers’ and made of Adidas’ thinnest available material, rendered in an eye-catching neon greeny-yellow…

The Ace 15 is specifically designed for the ‘playmakers’, featuring a 3D-printed webbed surface that has been developed to absorb impacts and make for better control.

It also has studs. Lots of studs…

So many studs.

While available to pre-order from June 5th, the first time we’ll get to see the new Adidas boot line in the flesh will be during the Champions League Final in Berlin the following day (June 6th).

Pies’ verdict? Very swish and futuristic, but give us a classic pair of ’04 Preds any day.

Can’t believe they killed the predator off for these.

really f*cking sick of expensive designer workout gear and football apparel.
“specifically designed for the ‘playmakers’, featuring a 3D-printed webbed surface that has been developed to absorb impacts and make for better control” is fine for the pros who might need that extra 1% of performance from a f*cking shoe but, to me its a lot of marketing and advertising horse puckey
