In the interest of strengthening their ties with the local RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) base, A-League side Newcastle Jets have unveiled an apt new limited edition kit.

With the Williamtown RAAF base just down the road from their stadium, the Jets have paid homage with a stunning new strip that features a flock of  F/A-18 Hornets tearing across the front of it.

It’s a little ripper…

The Jets will wear the one-off kit during the eighth round of the A-League season, i.e, their upcoming home match against Brisbane Roar on Saturday 28th November.

Furthermore, they are planning to make the eighth game-week of every season their official “RAAF Base Williamtown round” – a day on which they will put on events, initiatives and activities to highlight the club’s links to the Williamtown base.

If it means more horrendously wonderful kits, then we’re all for it.

  1. AJ says:

If by “just down the road”, you mean 30kms away than yes, the RAAF base is just down the road. Oh and Williamtown is north of Newcastle so technically up the road.
