That man there is Pep Guardiola. He is Manchester City’s new manager and he is sat in front of the brand new strip his team will be wearing as of the start of the 2016/17 Premier League season.

In-keeping with the general theme, the kit will be the first to feature City’s brand new badge which, you may notice, looks an awful lot like their old badge in many ways.

We’re assured by Nike that it’s City’s “most innovative kit ever” as it incorporates “advanced performance technology” in the shape of “engineered  geometric knit zones” to increase mobility and reduce weight.

It’s also a lovely shade of blue…

Nice enough, apart from the fact that a City kit should have white shorts and blue socks.

C’mon chaps, you’re messing with nature here.

And any previous reference to “Football Club” or “FC” has disappeared from their crest – something which caused apoplexy among many in football circles when their infinitely more successful neighbours did a similar thing in 1998 so surely it should provoke the same reaction now…

I like the simplicity of the shirt. The Etihad logo and the new club crest are very simple, discrete, it’s pretty.

I agree with you about the colour of the shorts. Blue shorts make the kit look a bit cyclist or something.
