Jimmy O’Mara is a graphic designer by trade and the man behind Manchester-based design studio Entire Design.

He’s recently found himself a whole flock of new fans with a line of illustrations he’s created showing current-day footballers wearing classic kits because, chiefly, they’re all rather brilliant.

Here is but a slice of the goodness on offer, kicking off with a stunning piece of gaudy lime green brilliance plucked from the Man City annals…

Sergio Aguero (wearing Man City’s 1998-99 Kappa away kit)

Roberto Firmino (wearing Liverpool’s 1982-84 Umbro home kit)

Anthony Martial (wearing Manchester United’s 1993-95 Umbro away kit)

Jamaal Lascelles (wearing Newcastle United’s 1995-96 Adidas away kit)

Georginio Wijnaldum (wearing the Netherlands’ 1988 Adidas home kit)

Emre Can (wearing Germany’s 1988-91 Adidas home kit)

Mesut Ozil (wearing Arsenal’s 1991-93 ‘bruised banana’ Adidas home kit)

Great stuff, though we have a particular soft spot for the Lascelles piece. That really was a damn fine Newcastle kit!

There are more examples of Jimmy’s rather excellent nostalgic football-flavoured work on sale from the Entire Design web store on Etsy.
