After putting them out to pasture a couple of years ago, Adidas have U-turned and revived their Predator marque with a brand new version of their erstwhile boot for 2018.

The Predator 18+ is a laceless affair, with the classic black, white and red colour palette of yore being tweaked to a more bronzed metallic orange.

Paul Pogba has been roped in to unveil the new wares, with a bit of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins chucked in for good measure…

Eschewing traditional laces in favour of one of them thar ankle sock things, the Adidas Predator 18+ features all the hallmarks of the classic boot, with the rubbery ‘swerve’ ridges and plush internal cushioning all present and correct.

Feast your eyes…

We are reliable informed that a lace-up version of the Predator 18+ will also be available, called the 18.1 model.

Aesthetically pleasing as they may be, in all honesty, Pies are struggling to get on board with these faddy ‘ankle’ boots, which have the feint whiff of clunky NFL cleats to us.

What’s wrong with a nice knackered old pair of Copa Mundials?
