Serie Aww: Atalanta Send Infant-Sized Football Kits To Every Baby Born In Home City Of Bergamo (Photos)

They may have gone sprawling out of the Europa League on Thursday night, but Atalanta are unlikely to see their support wane any time soon.

This is because the Italian side like to get their fans on board early, usually within the first day or two of their lives.

Indeed, as mentioned by journalist James Horncastle on The Totally Football Show podcast, the Orobici make a point of sending infant-sized kits to all babies born in their home city of Bergamo.

This was duly confirmed by the club, who added that they also bundle in a couple of cartons of Lactis baby milk (which is produced in Bergamo) to help out the parents…

It’s all part of Atalanta’s attempts to keep their links to the local community strong, as well as giving a little something back to the city in the process.

Lovely, lovely stuff.
