Having been entrusted to produce new home and away kits for the Jamaica national team, Umbro have well and truly come up with the good stuff.

Both kits are inspired by Jamaica’s unique culture and energy, though Umbro made it their business to avoid the cultures and cliches associated with the Caribbean nation.

The launch is accompanied by a specially-commissioned poem entitled “We Are The One” which was co-written by Jamaican wordsmiths Darryl Roberts, and Joel and Jeremy Moder and explores football’s role in helping to forge a collective spirit in the face of hardship.

The new Reggae Boyz home shirt is a vibrant yellow with green and black trim – Jamaica’s national colours – and also features retro-tinged detailing like the Umbro ‘diamond’ taping that runs down the sleeves.

It also has a subtle embossed graphic that is “inspired by the palm trees that line the Jamaican coastline”…

The away shirt features a much bolder design, again rendered in black, green and yellow with lively graphic that bears echoes of Umbro’s iconic diamond…

Here are loads more photos for you to get your teeth into…

Jamaica will wear their new kits over the coming week, with the away strip making it’s debut in Friday’s friendly against Ecuador in New York and the home strip set to worn for the first time in a CONCACAF Nations League game against the Cayman Islands on Sunday.

It’s fairly obvious that Umbro are hoping to create the same buzz that Nike did with their Nigeria away shirt and quite honestly, we have absolutely no problem with that at all!
