Kit Parade: Newcastle United away kit 2008/09
For extensive use during all those kit clashes with West Brom and, erm…

Newcastle have unveiled their new away kit and it looks a bit like this. It is allegedly blue, despite a distinct purple tint to the photograph above. Similarities to Chelsea’s kit have not gone unnoticed. Perhaps the most positive thing to come out of this for Newcastle fans is the fact that Michael Owen is modelling it (the traditional pre-season nod and wink that your star player will still be at the club for the next campaign). The kit is launched on July 24, and if you pre-order from the official club site you get a free ticket for a friendly against Valencia. Another photo after the jump.

The shirt looks darker on this photo. Also note the ‘NEWCASTLE UNITED – EST 1892 – ST JAMES’ PARK’ slogan around the inside of the shirt. Presumably further round it says: “If found please return to…” and Michael Owen’s mum has sewn his name in!
