Shit Football Kits: Atletico Madrid’s Spider-Man 2 Abomination, 2004
By Chris Wright
Back from the clear blue yonder, it’s Pies’ Shit Kits series (pause for applause, and…continue) and we thought we’d wade back into the water with a ‘Grade A’ doozy of a stinker – namely, Atletico Madrid’s frankly disgusting ‘Spider-Man 2′ movie tie-in away strip from 2004…
‘But just how did this cobwebby monstrosity come about?’, I hear you cry.
You see, Atletico were sponsored by Columbia Pictures at the time, who would change the shirt logo every so often throughout the 2003/04 season to promote their latest godawful movie – e.g celluloid classics such as ‘Hitch’ and ‘White Chicks’…
Sigh, those were the days.

hahahah :D yup, that ranks up there! but the players who have kids who are Spidey fans were probably happy
Truly horrific !!! It looks like a target on the front. Valencia have a bat in their badge why didn’t they come out with a batman version at the same time ?
I love the idea of tying in the movies to kits, but they could do with a dash of creativity/skill.
The “White Chicks” one is especially hideous, simply due to the fact that the font and colors in the box don’t mesh at all with anything.
Spiderman 2 was at least an attempt to base the kit around the sponsor, not vice versa, which is a cool idea, but very corporate’ish.
I bet Gutiérrez would love this!
Is that actually real???
Stupid yet funny at the same time.
I wonder what Fletch would say……
I need to inform you all that the “White Chicks” shirt says “Two Blondes with Chest Hair.”
That’s a cool kit!
Hah, where can I obtain one of these?
