Poring over the slow, sorry deflation of Valencia is a regular topic in Spanish football circles, with the club inching ever closer to ruination under the ownership of Peter Lim.

Los Che are currently wallowing down in 17th place in La Liga with 15 games gone, with Cesare Prandelli recently resigning after just 10 games in charge saying he felt “undermined” after repeated tussles with the Singaporean top brass.

Discussing the club’s miserable decline under Lim, ex-club president Francisco ‘Paco’ Roig had some impassioned opinions to share with the wider world, duly embarking on a swear-laden rant in which Gary Neville was mentioned in largely unfavourable terms:

What does the owner know about football? The pundit who came, the Englishman, was the worst coach I have ever seen.

Given that Neville left with the lowest win ratio (18.8%) of any full-time Valencia coach in La Liga history, Roig’s assessment certainly stands up to scrutiny.

The 78-year-old entrepreneur, who was Valencia’s majority shareholder between 1994 and 1997, then trained his sights on under-fire director of football Jesus Garcia Pitarch:

Pitarch says nothing but nonsense and has bought f***ing sh*t players.

What has Pitarch done to deserve leading Spain’s third biggest club? I’ve had it up to my balls with all these lies.

Garcia Pitarch says that he has said that he is leaving and that they will not let him go…let him go!

He then took a swipe at goal-shy striker Rodrigo, who has managed a measly six goals in 38 games since arriving from Benfica for £25million:

Why sign a player for €30m if he is sh*t? Valencia are f**ked.

It’s a disaster. It hurts me to say, but the club is dying.

By dismissing Neville as ‘the Englishman who came’, Roig is obviously making a thinly-veiled reference to this…

Never gets old.
