Last week, Pies posted mid-season reports and grades on each of the Premier League clubs. Now we turn our attention to individual players.
If the Player of the Season voting was to take place now, based on the first half of the 09/10 campaign, here, in alphabetical order, are the six players I’d have on my shortlist:
Richard Dunne (Aston Villa) - Someone remind me again why Mark Hughes swapped Dunne for Joleon Lescott? What a terrible decision that was, but not for Martin O'Neill and Villa supporters. Dunne has been immense for his new club, settling in instantly. Like another Irishman before him, namely Paul McGrath, Dunne may not be a natural athlete - but he is a natural defender.8054467
