Elsewhere, new boys Toronto flopped, suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of CD Chivas, while Chicago Fire downed New England Revolution 1-0. There was also a good start for Colorado Rapids, who beat DC United 2-1. Watch all the goals here [via Climbing the Ladder]:

This was the first time I’d ever seen an MLS game, but I was pretty impressed by the Colorado-DC game. It was about the most passionate soccer I’ve ever seen played by Americans. The LA-Houston draw, by stark contrast, was the most pathetic display I’ve ever seen. Beckham has his work cut out for him at his new club.
