Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Manchester United v Queens Park Rangers - Old Trafford

With the confirmation this morning from Harry Redknapp that Sandro missed QPR’s Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Stoke after aggravating his long-standing ACL injury by sliding on his knees in celebration after scoring a goal during a recent training game, we thought we’d cobble together a few of the best celebration cock-ups we’ve come across over the years.

No official footage of the Sandro incident exists, so you’ll just have to make do with these little beauties instead…

10. Luis Suarez

Suarez, seen here turning to celebrate with all of his closest friends after scoring against Chelsea…

9. Fernando Torres

Poor Nando. He’d obviously gone so long without scoring that he’d actually forgotten how to celebrate…

8. Boudewijn Zenden and Brandao

And for my next trick…

7. Emmanuel Adebayor

Not a “FAIL” as such, but here’s Adebayor sprinting the length of the field to goad Arsenal fans, only to get pelted with detritus and almost start a riot in the away section at the Etihad…

6. Arjen Robben

Beware of divots…

5. Victor Wanyama

“What?”

For the record, Wayama’s goal had been disallowed.

4. Wayne Rooney

Bit OTT from Rooney, don’t you think?

3. Andre Lewis of the  Vancouver Whitecaps

Altitude problems…

2. Marcus Bent (and friend)

Here’s Sheffield United striker Marcus Bent scoring the winning penalty to send Rushden & Diamonds out of the FA Cup, then celebrating with/without his excitable chum…

Classic.

1. Paulo Diogo

In which Servette midfielder Diogo LOSES A BLOODY FINGER after getting his wedding ring inadvertently caught in the perimeter fencing at FC Schaffhausen’s stadium.

Be warned, this ain’t pretty…

Losing a body part instantly catapults you to the top of the list.

Any more suggestions, Pies fans? You know what to do…
