Once upon a time, British football weeklies like Shoot! and Goal featured players at home with their wives, children and pets.

As you’re about to see, life was pretty ordinary back then…

Look at the size of Peter Bonetti’s hands

  2. ERG1008 says:

Steve Perryman’s “wife” is one of those Japanese sex dolls isn’t she? He ordered it to look like the blonde lass out of Human League.

  3. A Nonny Moose says:

So, you Little Englanders DO call it soccer! Or at least you did in those heady days of 1939 and 1971. For shame… though at least in those days you maybe had a chance of winning something.

  4. Jarren says:

My favourite has to be Gunter Netzer.

I can just imagine some late 60’s psych / Krautrock playing in the background.

    Even the dog looks badass.

  5. Moxey says:

Does that caption on Bradley Pratt’s girlfriend say her name is “Melons”?

    • Jarren says:

      Yes, yes it does.

Whether it’s her nickname or one that Bradley gave to her is something we’ll have to ask them themselves, but for now let’s just say that in 1991 she did indeed appear to have a nice pair.

      Of Melons.

  6. Scoop says:

Liz McLean is a right sort. Top of this league.

  7. David James Michael Lench says:

Lovely pictures .Stirred many young hearts into playing football and copying their heroes.Well done ladies and gentlemen.
