Put together a composite XI made up of the best players from Inter and Barcelona and what do you get? Something like this (note: team is based on current ability rather than career overall, and assuming all players are fit):

Just goes to show, Barca isn’t a hell of a lot stronger than Inter. At the back, the Italian side has the edge. In terms of attacking power, Barca is clearly more potent.

Agree with the XI?

  1. Anthony says:

Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Puyol, Zanetti, Sneijder, Cambiasso, Xavi, Messi, Milito, Eto’o

  2. Paul says:

No Iniesta? He has to be included if we are assuming everyone is fit.
    Give me:

    GK: Cesar
    DEF: Maicon, Lucio, Pique, Abidal
    CM: Xavi, Cambiasso, Sneijder
    RW: Messi
    LW: Iniesta
    CF: Eto’o

pedro is gud, but i wud put milito der instead as he has more expperience n can score more goals

  4. Pooch says:

    Cesar
    Maicon Lucio Puyol Zanetti

    Cambiasso

    Sneijder Xavi

    Messi Iniesta

    Eto’o

  5. Ollie says:

Difficult to leave Iniesta out, but in terms of balance hard to find a place for him. I’m a massive fan of Pedro too.

  6. Ollie says:

And no Dani Alves, Zlatan, Puyol, Samuel etc. Shows how strong both teams really are.

  7. Jay says:

I like this line up, I might replace Pedro though and slide Sneijder up to left wing, and then put Iniesta in Sneijder’s place

  8. Pooch says:

Have to have Iniesta there, the guys a genious. Good to see Eto’o up top, I still rate him as one of the most dangerous strikers around and it shows what a crazy transfer that was last summer

  9. Calum says:

    Cesar
    Maicon Pique Lucio Zanetti
    Messi Xavi Ineista Sneijder
    Milito Ibrahimovic

  10. Raider says:

i wouldn’t agree with pedro ollie. Milito or Balotelli should’ve been in place of him.

  11. Simon says:

Iniesta has to be in there. Alongside Mourinho’s tactics, he’s the reason Barca’s passing game failed to make more than 2 clear cut opportunities last night. Pedro has never done anything to make me think he’s anything but a filler in that team.

  12. Michael says:

    No Iniesta? No Milito?
    Come on.

A very attacking line-up, but one that would walk over any team in the world. 3 solid defenders who can also carry the ball and pass well. A sitting midfielder to protect the back 3, then arguably the best midfield/attack in the world.
