The agents of all these players should be very happy with the way the 2010 World Cup has gone for their clients.

  1. Meji says:

What about Frank Lampard mate? He almost scored a goal.

  2. Chris says:

Can’t fault the list but I’d add Mexican defensive duo Carlos Salcido and Francisco Rodriguez, who were both excellent.

  3. Filipe says:

Let’s not forget 21 years old Fábio Coentrão, portuguese left back.

  4. Jeff says:

Cant believe Landon Donovan was not in there? Well known already, but would it not be fair to say that his value has well increased?

  5. Shane says:

Fabio Coentrao the left wingback from Portugal, he surely impressed with his overlapping runs and service…

  6. Smith says:

i think Landon Donovan of USA
did himself well in the tornament

  7. Hootie says:

I’d supplant Forlan (known class and aging) and Llorente (known class only sitting behind possibly the best two strikers – when fit – in the world) with Coentrao, who was virtually unknown before, and Schweinsteiger, who might have established himself the best midfielder in the world that doesn’t play for Spain or The Netherlands.

  8. Tony Fawn says:

    The.One.The.Only.
    DIRK KUYT
    Legend
    ‘nough said.

  9. Ben says:

Didn’t Kaiser Chiefs let Tshabalala go for free?

  10. samhumphreys says:

Coentrao is a good shout, arguably Portugal’s best player… I liked the way Llorente put himself about when he came on but missed a couple of guilt edge chances so i don’t think his value will be affected too much.. Sergio Busquets has really enhanced his growing reputation, not looking out of place with he best midfield in the world at club or country..

  11. Gamblino says:

Sanchez the Chilean right winger – looked a proper livewire.

  12. Anonymous says:

John Heitinga, an absolute genius at holland this season! rock solid at the back, only 26 with experience around him such as van bronkhorst, van bommel and demy de zeeuw, holland were always going to be ok.

  13. Jeremy says:

USA’s Michael Bradley did himself well in South Africa too.

  14. Lisa says:

I was impressed by Michael Bradley as well. Great midfield engine. Ideally suited for the PL.

  15. mg says:

Thought CIV’s Gervinho looked capable of taking on defenses when given the opportunity.

  16. Joao says:

F.Coentrao and Eduardo are reall missing here. Two players that looked very in form in this tournament. Vittek also.

  17. j says:

Ollie, you really should either use just a simple scrolldown photogallery or get and embeded-flash-photo-viewer-or-something. For us with a 512 mbs RAM it’s quite painful this way.

  18. mkl says:

I agree with J: the photogalleries are painful this way.

  19. Ruperto says:

    Javier Hernandez

  20. mizman says:

raul merieles – portugal, Marcus tulio Tanaka – japan and sami khedira – Germany

  21. Anonymous says:

Raul Merieles showed his class as everything he touched turned to gold.
Lukman Haruna held Nigeria’s midfield single-handedly
Gervinho showed his ability to run at defences
and Guardado and Dos Santos were amazing.

  22. Anonymous says:

Not a good representation of goal keepers. The Nigerian stopper was outstanding – Victor Enyeama

  23. Deckard says:

Honda: Recently signed for CSKA Moscos any side wanting him will have to dig very, very deep in their pockets.

Podolski: IMO, will flop at Chelsea or wherever because he’s one of them who rocks for his country but sucks ass in club colours.

Muller: No way Van Gaal will sell him but undoubtedly the revelation of the tournament.

Suarez: Was gonna go to a top side anyway for being European Golden Boot winner, but now his value’s skyrocketed. Ajax will cash in nicely for him but he’ll be hugely missed because we’re so reliant on him.

Elia: Mwah, his cameo against Denmark wasn’t enough to convince. However, the kid’s clearly got talent. But we don’t know yet if he’s world-class or just under it.

Sneijder: Probably the most expensive player in the world right now. Man Utd will need to fork out Real Madrid style if they want him. Moratti may move for Gourcuff or Ozil if he sells Sneijder.

Ozil: A top side awaits him

    Some guys you forgot:

Stekelenburg: Undoubtedly the keeper of the tournament along with Neuer. Holland never missed the great Edwin Van Der Sar and at 28, De Steek seems ready for the big time.

Mathijsen: How we missed him vs Brazil. Was solid as a rock when he came back vs Uruguay and has had a solid tournament throughout.

De Jong: Lost his place at City then fought back into the team playing the best football of his career. Carried this form into the WC is now one of the best ball retrievers in the world. A top side awaits him mark my words.

  24. phil says:

    Diego Benaglio (Switzerland goalkeeper)?

  25. Spain says:

    Dirk Kuyt, Higuain

  26. Spain says:

Higuain was worth maybe 20 mil but now it’s probably 50

  27. guit says:

From a Brazilain point of view I see:
    Elano
    Robinho
    Bastos

  28. Deckard says:

Who? some decent saves vs Spain, didn’t see him afterwards.

  29. PULKIT says:

    why not JAVIER HERNANDEZ??????

  30. figg says:

    Alexcis Sanchez and Fábio Coentrão.
Impressed by Annan from Ghana, exciting player.

  31. barca4ever says:

Sergio Ramos, who went to the top of the Castrol index after Spain knocked Germany out.

In fact, the Castrol index is topped by the whole of the Spanish defence, who have been immense – Pique, Puyol, Ramos, Capdevilla are all in front of David Villa in the the ranking, although that could change if Villa scores again in the final.

As for Ramos’s alleged defensive frailities, I’ve not seen them (OK, he got lucky with the penalty shout not given vs Ozil), but he’s got through without even a yellow card against him. He is a monster, and often so far into the attack, he’s in front of Pedro! He really is giving new meaning to total football. I hope he wins on Sunday.

  32. joe says:

uhhhh, Michael Bradley? And too many of these players are already well established. consider forlan for example, regardless of having a good tournament, he’s been around the block and likely won’t be going anywhere in the near future. also, suarez, while unknown to casual fans who only see the epl highlights on espn is one of the premier players on the ‘biggest’ team in the dutch league

  33. Barack Obama says:

Pedrito – Baraca found a new gem in him. Brilliant little player

  34. Jack Proudfoot says:

    Bastian Schweinsteiger

  35. basti.lfc says:

    jorge fucile
    dirk kuyt
    francisco rodriguez
pablo barrera (good transfer for west ham!)
    arevalo rios
    edinson cavani
    pedro rodriguez
    diego godin
    toni kroos
    and of course alexis sanchez!

  36. Hash says:

    Salcido (Mexico)

    Fucile (Uruguay)

    Lugano (Uruguya)

    Muslera (Uruguay)

    Donavan (USA)

    Cahill (Australia)

    Stekelenburg (Netherlands)

    Villar (Paraguay)

    Enyeama (Nigeria)

    Vittek (Slovakia)

    Jesus Navas (Spain)

Fabregas (Arsenal) (the best impact player! imagine if he had started all games for Spain…this world cup wouldnt have been a low scoring affair with his brilliant assists)

    and

    the entire German team

  37. Mensroomsink says:

Diego Perez: Uruguay’s one man engine room – all industry, purpose.

  38. Grant says:

I agree with most of your choices, and a guy I was very impressed with was Mark Paston, the Goal Keeper for the New Zealand team that walked away with no losses. He really kept them in the tournament and was a big reason they were able to go home with their heads held high.

  39. Jack says:

Gervinho, Cote d’Ivoire looked really lively, but was horribly underused

Andre Ayew from Ghana will be a star, but the card he received against the US kept him out of the Uruguay match.
