We present the best images from a quite astonishing weekend of Premier League football:

Aston Villa’s new loan signing Michael Bradley is paraded at Villa Park prior to kick-off against Fulham. Cheer up, Mike.

Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez celebrates completing his hat-trick from the penalty spot. City beat West Brom 3-0 to remain very much in the title race.

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie (left) scores their fourth goal past Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper. The Gunners couldn’t hold on to a 4-0 lead, though, as Newcastle staged one of the great comebacks in English football history to draw 4-4.

… Speaking of which, it was Newcastle United’s Cheik Tiote who scored Newcastle’s fourth goal – and what a brilliant goal it was.

Wigan Athletic’s Maynor Figueroa flies through the air after a robust challenge by Blackburn Rovers’ Jason Roberts. Wigan won a pulsating encounter 4-3.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Vedran Corluka and Bolton Wanderers’ Stuart Holden (doing a passable Joe Hart impression) battle for the ball in the air. Spurs won 2-1 thanks to a late goal by Niko Kranjcar.

Everton striker Jermaine Beckford falls to the floor after being challenged by Blackpool goalkeeper Paul Rachubka. Everton won 5-3 – just another eight-goal thriller then.

Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney is outjumped by Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ronald Zubar, on a day when United lost their unbeaten record this season.

Birmingham City’s David Bentley slide tackles West Ham United’s Lars Jacobsen. The Blues won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Nikola Zigic.

Chelsea’s £50m man Fernando Torres looks dejected as he lies on the floor. Torres endured a poor debut against former club Liverpool. The Spaniard had no effect on the game and was substituted as Liverpool ran out 1-0 winners at Stamford Bridge.
