2. George Eastham - The Newcastle midfielder went on strike at the end of 1959/60 after taking umbrage at the house and second job that the club had lined up for him. He spent several months selling cork in Guildford before Newcastle finally caved in and sold him to Arsenal eight months later. However, Eastham continued his legal fight over the 'slave conditions' bought about by player's contracts and successfully bought about a reform of the transfer system in 1968.
