Liverpool – Everton – FA Cup – 14th April 2012

A rather dull first half in this Mersey extravaganza was brought to life by an almighty mess-up on 24 minutes between Daniel Agger and Jamie ‘Carra’ Carragher. The ball fell for Nikica Jelavic and the Croat slotted home.

After the break, the Reds pushed for an equaliser with poor old Andy Carroll missing a gilt-edged chance for only a few yards. But then another centre-half made a pig’s ear of it, when Sylvain Distin’s crappy back pass set up Luis Suarez, who flicked home with the outside of his foot.

Liverpool dominated from then on, and ultimately it was the Reds’ divine ponytail, Carroll, who would win the derby courtesy of a late strike.

A potential cup double for the Reds is sure to take some of the pressure off King Kenny.

    Well I am certain who ever the winner was out of Liverpool-Everton would not win the FA cup. Both teams lack any creativity what so ever. Both teams scored goals off of terrible defensive mistakes and 1 lucky header by the guy who is an utter flop for the price he was bought at. I am for certain Spurs or Chelsea (despite both teams in total dismay of late) will win the Fa cup. Kenny needs to go after this season because the future is not bright at all. Personally if I was John Henry I would be utterly pissed that all the 75 million pounds recived for Torres has been used on shite of players. Kenny has no eye for talent at all.

    anyone else getting fed up with the moaning of commentator Stewart Robson? What a grumpy bastard.

    @Nate Your so right nowadays a cup and another final just isn’t good enough. Sir Alex with no trophy or finals has been much better this season.

  5. Jarren says:

    A goal from a misplaced backpass and a fluke backwards header.

    Spurs / Chelsea should really annihilate Liverpool in the final.

    @Rob, I’ve never even heard this commentator before but yeah, he sounds pretty fed up with his job.

    I scored!! I scored!!

    Actually, I don’t care if we win but a dozen own goals or a flick off someone’s arse. History will read that, hopefully, Liverpool were the DOUBLE cup winners in 2011/12 and that’s all that matters. Just ask Arsenal fans..5 years of Champions League but not trophies. Which would you prefer?

    @Jarren :

    Do you even follow football? Are u one of those talkSPORT shites that go on radio and speak utter tool? Andy Carroll’s goal was brilliance. Give the guy a break. He rised up, despite his height , despite fellayini pulling his shirt, and excellently placed the ball in the corner. What part of that is fluke? And Do you expect Chelsea to ‘annihilate’ Liverpool? What a mad / drunkard man u are.
