(Yes, it’s yet another Liverpool piece but hey, that’s the way the footballing cookie crumbles sometimes!)

Showing the kind of charm and people-skills which his predecessor Kenny Dalglish struggled to master, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has thanked the Reds’ fans who followed their team to Belarus for Thursday evening’s Europa league clash with FC Gomel.

Liverpool won the game 1-0 courtesy of a (shock) strike from Stewart Downing and Rodgers was quick to praise the travelling support, writing them a personal letter. Classy stuff.

Here’s the letter in full…

If Rodgers’ team can perform as well on the pitch as he is off the pitch, then the Reds’ future is looking rosy!

Pretty meaningless gesture. If it comes Christmas time and Liverpool are floating mid-table then no one will even remember this. Just some pathetic brown nosing. Excuse me while I vomit in this bucket.

If it comes Christmas time and Liverpool are floating mid-table then no one will even remember this. Just some brown nosing. Excuse me while I vomit in this conveniently placed bucket.

The third paragraph is a bit strange. Looks like he’s buttering them up nicely though.

I think writing the letter is a class act by a class guy. Just wish some of the class will rub off on Suarez.

  5. Graham says:

This was only because of an initial fan backlash when the Liverpool squad didn’t acknowledge those who traveled to Belarus in support at the end of the game. This was more PR repair than genuine thanks.

  6. Graham says:

In other words, paragraph 3 was a flat out lie.

  7. Luke says:

Brown nosing. Ever since his rise with Swansea, Rodgers has gradually transformed from a likeable, humble chap to an arrogant, ruthless nobend,

@Graham Ah, that makes sense now then. I wondered why they’d mention that when it’s often a given. Basically saying “Yeah, we gave you a clap at the end, right? We did.”
