Sunderland 1-1 Liverpool – Premier League – 15th September 2012

It’s been quite a week for all those involved with Liverpool FC, but on the pitch, the Reds failed to register their first win of the season against a well-drilled Sunderland side.

Steven Fletcher was the goal-hero for the home side again, netting on the half-hour mark after great play from Craig Gardner. However, the Reds battled for an equaliser, coming close when Glen Johnson hit the woodwork and Steven fired wide. But eventually, the goal came, courtesy of Luis Suarez who fired home at the second time of asking.

Martin O’Neill’s men picked up yet another draw while his fellow Irishman Brendan Rodgers continues his quest for a victory.

Mein Gott, Liverpool are shit. Pretty sure we’ll finish above them this season.

my god, liverpool’s kit is pure shit… it reflects well with the team.

pool aren’t that bad, maybe by comparison to yesteryears but by no means shit. the competition of the premier league is certainly rising and aside from a disastrous opening day they’ve bested the champions in a unlucky draw, under-preformed and punished by a decent arsenal side, and outplayed a tricky sunderland squad but were unfortunate to miss a few chances. Their issue lays in their inability to apply the final finish, but the build up has been head and shoulders above what it was last year. No doubt that this team will eventually turn around after a few additions and subtractions, but since liverpool are directly in the heat of the spotlight, criticism will be everpresent. shankly didnt inherit the team he ended up finding success with, give rodgers time to get all the pieces he needs and i truly believe he will have success

Can’t see Pool not strengthening in Winter transfer market, I just wonder will Rodgers get the blame if all goes wrong before then.

  5. Anabelle says:

I said it once, and will say it again. Brendan Rodgers has 2 seasons with Liverpool: Fall and Winter.

Duh, his team can’t/won’t/unable to score goals. Next season will be better, they’ll be playing Leeds and Millwall.
