Everton 2-2 Liverpool – Suarez Takes Centre Stage In Pulsating Mersey Derby (Photos & Highlights)

Everton 2-2 Liverpool – Premier League – 28th October 2012
Luis Suarez was once again both the hero and the pantomime villain of an exciting Merseysdie derby at Goodison. From start to finish, the striker was central to the clash, with his shot on 14 minutes, deflecting off Leighton Baines to open the scoring. The Uruguayan chose to celebrate that goal by producing, in true Jurgen Klinnsmann style, a mock dive right in front of Everton boss, David Moyes, who was less than pleased. Somewhat ironically, Everton’s very own Phil Neville was himself booked for diving during the course of the game.
Suarez then doubled the Reds’ advantage on 20 minutes, courtesy of a fine header as the visitors stunned Goodison Park. However, the Toffees struck back almost immediately through Leon Osman while Steve Naismith levelled the scores before half-time.
After the break, the home side pushed for the winner, although at the other end of the pitch, fleet-footed winger Raheem Sterling was a threat in a more central attacking role. Then, late on, Suarez was once again involved in some drama, when he prodded the ball in after a Steven Gerrard free-kick, only for the lino to erroneously flag for offside. And that was that.

do you think that it is an accident that there are so many Suarez haters and they come from so many different clubs. There are many arrogant players, there are many flagrant divers and there are quite a few thugs in the game but there a very few who meld all three into such a vile package and add a little sprinkle of racism and you get something just a little special. It used to be the blue half hated gerrard but so quickly he has become almost acceptable.
Well wasn’t that fun, eh? Personally, I’d prefer a derby like that and a draw.

I’m a Liverpool-man, and I’m a Suarez hater.
He has the potential for being one of the best attacking players in the game, but as long as he remains a cheating, whining, utterly un-sportsman-like little tw**, he will get no love from me. Players like him is a cancer on the beautiful game, and he’s simply not worthy of wearing the liverbird on his chest, skills or not…

@Uncle Rifle. Get with it will you, do you want every Liverpool player to be whiter than white?? Here is something for you our beloved Captain could/should have got jail time, he has won penalties for going down without any contact (diving) and has put in some of the worst tackles ever seen in the premiership (George boateng springs to mind). Support your club and the players at the club. My suggestion is you are an armchair fan seriously removed form the club and that probably has never been to any games. Luis gives 100% to win every week, unlike a lot of the others.
