Now plying his trade in Yankland with Seattle Sounders, former Liverpool cock-up merchant Djimi Traore scored and absolute belter in the Champions League last night – the CONCACAF Champions League that is – when the 33-year-old defender wellied in a screamer from range to draw Sounders level at 2-2 (on aggregate) against Mexican side Tigres…

Ooof! Sounders then went on to add another goal, winning 3-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate to book themselves a berth in the semi-finals.

We’ll just leave this here, for old time’s sake…

Maybe you should put up the full highlights as well, Chris. All three Sounders goals were absolute belters.

It was the first time an MLS side took out a Mexican side in CCL. While we are all aware that it isnt UCL, this tournament is important for us because if an MLS side wins it, it may help in legitimizing our league. If nothing else, it will drive the Mexicans nuts, as their greatest fear is that the US league will surpass theirs.
