‘Nando’s back in training
Great news for Liverpool fans, The Gilded Pony Fernando Torres is back in training and may be fit enough to return to the squad for next weekend’s critical trip to Manchester City.
The Spanish striker has been cleared to start cantering running again by the Liverpool medical team and has been seen completing laps at the club’s Melwood training facilities without any obvious pain, but a firm date has yet to be set for his official return to first team action.
Seems like Torres’ return to fitness will coincide nicely with Liverpool’s recent upturn in form and results. That ‘guaranteed fourth place finish’ that Rafa Benitez so ardently promised in December suddenly doesn’t seem like quite such a ludicrous claim.
