Liverpool 2-1 Sunderland – Premier League – 26th March 2014

Britain Soccer Premier League

A fine free-kick from Steven Gerrard in the first-half and a goal from in-form striker Daniel Sturridge soon after the re-start secured a vital victory for Liverpool against Sunderland, a results which sees the Reds keep the heat on league-leaders Chelsea.

Gus Poyet deployed three centre-halves in the game and this seemed to limit Luis Suarez and Sturridge early on. However, the Gerrard free-kick settled the nerves at Anfield, although a late Ki Sung-Yueng header made the final minutes of the game interesting.

Liverpool go a point behind leaders Chelsea while the Black Cats stay three points from safety.

    What a free kick!

Really feel for Sunderland though, they don’t deserve to go down.

yeah they dont . i like the brilliant camouflag by Suarez bcoz he pretended as if he was going to take the kick…and Gerrerad had a go…the form of Liverpool is Superb and the title might be theirs coz they have done “almost everything” to win it.

Great goal. Whenever I see a free kick from a position like that, I wonder about the foul that lead to it. They’re usually quite soft.
