You may remember that we brought you a leaked snapshot (above) yesterday, but today Liverpool have released the full set of architects’ renderings of the club’s proposed redevelopment of their Anfield stadium.

With the focus on Liverpool’s plan for a new, three-tier, £100million Main Stand, several more images have been released as the club prepare to submit planning application for the project that will see Anfield and an accompanying plaza expanded into the area surrounding the stadium.

The club are currently in the process of buying up the properties immediately outside the stadium with construction planned to begin in early 2015 ahead of completion in the summer of 2016.

According to the Liverpool Echo, phase one of the building project (re-jigging the Main Stand) will add 8,500 extra seats thus taking Anfield’s capacity from 45,000-odd up to approximately 54,000 for the 2016/17 season.

If the club then feel the need, phase two (redeveloping the Anfield Road Stand) will get the go-ahead, eventually bumping Anfield’s capacity up to around 59,000 – the third largest in the Premier League as things stand.

Bless ‘em. 20-odd years in the title wilderness, and the first glimpse of a Championship (tbc) has got them all excited. It’s like a wedding that is getting out of hand.
Bonus points to anyone who can name the last sold-out fixture at Anfield.

It’s sold out every game you muppet hence why we need this in the first place, we sell out & people still can’t get tickets so we have no problem with having fans who want to go
