Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea – Premier League – 8th December 2014
Chelsea registered yet another win against of the Premier League’s big guns after securing a 2-1 victory at Anfied.
Emre Can opened the scoring for the home side after just nine minutes, courtesy of his first goal for the Reds. However, within five minutes the Blues were level after Gary Cahill’s effort, after a superb save from Simon Mignolet, crept over the goal-line. After the break, Chelsea then went in for the kill, with Diego Costa firing home his 10th goal of the season to give the visitors a deserved win. Although, the hosts will feel rightly aggrieved at the failure of ref Anthony Taylor to give a penalty for a blatant handball from Cahill.
Chelsea stay four points clear at the top while Brendan Rodgers’ side are now a whopping 15 points behind the Blues in eighth place.
