Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool – FA Cup Fifth Round – 14th February 2015

Liverpool came from a goal down to book their place in the last eight of the FA Cup at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Alan Pardew’s Eagles had gone ahead on 15 minutes when Frazier Campbell fired home after Reds’ ‘keeper Simon Mignolet parried Dwight Gayle’s header. However, the visitors were the better side for long periods of the game and eventually went level courtesy of a fine Daniel Sturridge effort soon after the break.

In the second-half, Liverpool pushed for the winner and just before the hour-mark, the goal came. Adam Lallana was the goal-hero for the Merseysiders, with the England man stroking home after Julain Speroni could only parry a well-worked Mario Balotelli free-kick.

Liverpool go into the draw for the last eight, with Rodgers no doubt impressed as his side haev now gone by a lively performance from Balotelli.

Liverpool deserved the win. Second half they were by far the better team.

Palace looked tired, and without much passion to win.

Great to see Balotelli put in a shift as well. Hope this helps him fit in with the squad.

Best moments: The Sturridge / Moreno dance combo & Mario actually smiling.
