‘Twas the annual Corazon Classic exhibition match at the Bernabeu yesterday afternoon, with a team of Real Madrid legends taking on a team of their Liverpool counterparts all in the name of charidee.

Despite going 2-0 down early on, Real Madrid roared back to win 4-2 thanks in part to a couple of scorching penalties from Roberto Carlos – though it was the Brazilian left-back’s range of passing that stole the show in the end.

Indeed, the 42-year-old (who currently manages Qatari side Al-Arabi) delivered a cross-field ball for the ages, chipping it up on the left flank and drilling an arching 60-yard pass the entire width of the pitch to Michel Salgado stationed out on the opposite wing…

As for the game itself, a whole host of ex-players turned out, with Michael Owen, Steve McManaman, Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush all reuniting for ‘Pool while Real Madrid’s side boasted the likes of Clarence Seedorf, Zinedine Zidane, Claude Makelele, Fernando Morientes and Christian Karembeu.

Some decent real estate there.
