Gabriel Paletta may have failed to make the grade with Liverpool a decade ago, but the Argentine-born defender has managed to enjoy a decent career in Italy with Parma and Milan.

However, in Milan’s Serie A clash with Genoa on Tuesday, with Italian international and his team-mates endured a poor evening, losing 3-0 after Paletta saw red for a dreadful lunge at Luca Rigoni.

With home side Genoa 1-0 up, Rigoni raced down the left flank, only to be utterly poleaxed by an appalling two-footed lunge from the 30-year-old Paletta.

Not surprisingly, Paletta was sent off for the ridiculous challenge, making it two red cards for the centre-half already this season. Pure lunacy!!

not as bad as it looks at first but nevertheless you can see the intention to dismantle the opponent.
