Swansea City dragged themselves (if only temporarily) off the bottom of the Premier League and out of the relegation zone entirely with an exciting 3-2 win over Liverpool in Saturday’s early kick-off.

After a largely drab first half lolloped by without note, Fernando Llorente burst into life after the restart with two goals in the space of four minutes.

The Spanish battering ram prodded the opener home in the 48th minute before following up with a meaty header in the 52nd to thump Swansea further ahead…

However, Roberto Firmino quickly carved the away side’s 2-0 lead in twain just three minutes later with a decent header of his very own.

The Brazilian forward then restored parity in the 69th minute with a superb piece of centre-forward play, bringing a cross down in a crowded penalty box and swivelling to fire past Lukasz Fabianski on the turn…

The score then remained level for all of five minutes, right up until the point Gylfi Sigurdsson pounced to secure the Swans’ first ever victory at Anfield with 15 minutes left by steering a loose ball past Simon Mignolet…

And so, with that result Paul Clement manages in the space of one afternoon what his predecessors couldn’t in several months of trying.

Before the rest of today’s results come filtering in, Swansea are up to the giddy heights of 17th while Liverpool lost vital ground at the summit.
