Liverpool secured a 3-1 win against La Liga side Athletic Bilbao on Saturday in Dublin, in their last friendly before the Premier League begins next weekend.
However, despite the win, Jurgen Klopp was unimpressed by his players during the game, with one particular colourful outburst picked up by the television pitch-side mics.
With the Liverpool players struggling to click, Klopp screamed: “August is too late to play like this. Play f**king football”!
Klopp’s words seemed to do the trick, with the Reds going on to win the game 3-1.
Roberto Firmino, Ben Woodburn and Dominic Solanke scored the goals for the Merseysiders in front of a crowd of over 51,000 fans at the Aviva Stadium.
Firmino opened the scoring on 21 minutes from the penalty spot, after the Brazilian himself was felled in the box.
On 30 minutes, Inaki Williams levelled the scores after some poor defending from the Reds.
Youngster Ben Woodburn put the Premier League giants back in front just before the hour mark, courtesy of a fine left-footed strike.
Summer-signing Solanke netted the third on 80 minutes, courtesy of a header from close-range.
Now Klopp and co. turn their attention to next weekend and their Premier League opener away to Watford, with the German no doubt hoping his side will play some ‘f***ing football’ at Vicarage Road.
