Liverpool registered their first win of the new Premier League season at Anfield on Saturday, with Sadio Mané scoring the only goal of a tight clash with Crystal Palace.
Eagles’ boss Frank de Boer will have been pleased by an improved display from his charges, who really should have taken the lead just before the hour-mark, only for ex-Liverpool striker Christian Benteke to blast over from close-range.

The Reds created a number of chances throughout the game, only for Joel Matip and Mané to fail to apply the cutting edge.
However, on 73 minutes, Mané finally made the breakthrough, firing past Wayne Hennessey after initially playing a one-two with sub Dominic Solanke.
The game would end in victory for Jurgen Klopp and co, with the German no doubt delighted by the vibrant display of debutante full-back Andrew Robertson.
As for de Boer, he’ll be hoping he won’t have to wait much longer for a first win with Palace. If not, it won’t take long for the pressure to start to build on the Dutchman.
