Tuesday night produced a ‘Miracle of Seville’ as Liverpool threw away a 3-0 half-time lead to take only a point from the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

Liverpool were superb in the first-half, blowing away their Spanish hosts, with Roberto Firmino netting within two minutes

Sadio Mané then made it 2-0 as the visitors made the most of some poor defending from their hosts.

Firmino would get another to send Liverpool in a comfortable 3-0 up at half-time.

However, soon after the break, the hosts got one back , with Wissam Ben Yedder heading home from a free-kick needlessly given away by ex-Sevilla full-back Alberto Moreno.

Moreno’s nightmare second-half then went from bad to worse when he fouled Ben Yedder in the box after a bad touch, with the French striker converting the resulting spot-kick.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side still looked to be heading for the knockout stages until, at the death, Guido Pizarro scored after a corner.

Not surprisingly, the home players and fans went ballistic while Liverpool were left stunned, with poor defending once again to blame.

Still, the Merseysiders are still top of Group E and need just a point against Spartak Moscow on December 6th to make sure of their place in the last 16.
