Arsenal and Liverpool played out an incredible 3-3 draw at the Emirates on Friday, with Roberto Firmino ultimately securing a share of the points for the visitors.

Liverpool were the dominant side in the first half, and the Reds took the lead on 26 minutes, with Philippe Coutinho scoring via a rare header.

The Gunners struggled to deal with Liverpool’s rapid counter-attacks and just after the break, the visitors doubled their advantage, with Mohamed Salah firing home courtesy of a deflected effort.

The hosts looked dead and buried but they roused themselves and got one back on 53 minutes, with Alexis Sanchez heading in from a Hector Bellerin centre.

Arsenal then got another, with Granit Xhaka’s powerful effort proving too hot to handle for a feeble Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool goal.

Incredibly, the north Londoners made it three goals within five minutes when Mesut Ozil dinking the ball past Mignolet after a clever backheel from Alexandre Lacazette.

However, in a game full of feeble defending, there was one more goal to come, with Petr Cech’s initial save not able to stop Firmino’s effort from ending up in the back of the Gunners’ goal

The entertaining clash would end 3-3, meaning that the the last five meetings between the two sides in the top-flight have produced an incredible 27 goals.

However, for all the entertainment, both Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp will be bemoaning the poor defending throughout.
