Mark Noble and Jack Wilshere were left nursing more than just wounded pride after West Ham’s 4-0 opening weekend tonking at the hands of Liverpool.
Not long after going 3-0 down, both of the Hammers’ central midfielders suffered painful low blows in quick succession.
Wilshere was the first to plummet to the ground with testicular trauma after getting in the way of James Milner’s powerful freekick…
Noble followed with a yelp soon after, having put his body – and his bollocks – on the line to prevent Mohamed Salah scoring from the rebound.
With both players stricken on the pitch, referee Anthony Taylor had little choice but to stop play.
Thankfully, there were no serious injuries as a result. Just an awful lot of grimacing.
