Portugal & Liverpool Star Raul Meireles Scores Wonder Goal vs Iceland (Video)

By Ollie Irish

Boooooom! At least Liverpool fans can take some comfort in the form of new signing Raul Meireles, though whether he ever replicates this thundertwat of a strike in their colours is another matter (John Jensen MkII?).

And in the interests of Andrew Marr not calling me pimpled and single again, I am compelled to add that Portugal won their Euro 2012 qualifier 3-1 in Reykjavik, with goals by Meireles, sub Helder Postiga (former rubbish Tottenham striker) and some upstart called Cristiano Ronaldo.

Portugal’s new head coach, Paulo Bento, has now overseen back-to-back wins in Group H since replacing the suspended Carlos Queiroz last month.
