Rafa Benitez’s team eases to away win
Liverpool scored a useful win in the first game of its pre-season tour of Switzerland. Rafa rested star men Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres, and made a stack of substitutions (eight in all), but his line-up did more than enough to merit the victory.
The Premier League side’s goals came from Lucas and Andriy Voronin. Watch both goals below…
Lovely pass to Lucas by 17-year-old forward Dani Pacheco, who is very highly rated at the club.
Very smart finish from the Ukraine striker. I remember he looked sharp in pre-season last year and then faded badly come the real season. Let’s hope he can show Liverpool fans a bit more of his undoubted ability in 08/09.
