WWE Star Sheamus Visits Anfield – Wants To Kick Gary Neville In The Face (Photos)

By Chris Wright

If you’re a fan of men in tights sitting on each other’s faces, then you may be familiar with this pale-looking chap, if not then let us introduce him. His name is Sheamus, he’s a WWE wrestler and, unlike certain superstar basketball sell-outs we could mention, he’s a genuine Liverpool fan. I mean, are you going to argue with him?

With WWE in town for a show in Liverpool, Sheamus (who is an Irishman by trade) took the opportunity to visit Anfield for the first time – taking the tour, sitting in chairs, looking at walls, punching shirts, roaring at grass and even getting his strawberry-blonde mitts on ‘Old Big Ears’…

Those doubting Sheamus’ Liverpool ceredentials should bare this in mind. When asked which footballer he’d like to slap around the ring, he replied:

“I’d definitely like to ‘Brogue Kick’ that Gary Neville fella. I don’t know what it was about him.

“I know he played for Manchester United and there is a big rivarly between Liverpool and them, but everytime you look at him he has an 80-year old granny’s face on him. He looks as though he’s eaten 10 bags of lemons or something!

“So it’d definitely be Gary Neville, I never liked him at all.”

Seems kosher to me.

seems a bit pointless when hes obviously not a football fan

  2. Chris says:

@Jimbo: To be fair to the guy, he sounds like the real deal…

“It’s been brilliant – I’ve felt like a little kid walking around. I’ve just been in the museum and been around the whole stadium. Liverpool are the football club I’ve supported ever since I was a kid.

“I’ve always loved them. They had four great Irish players – Whelan, Houghton, Staunton and Aldridge. I particularly loved Ronnie Whelan, I thought he was a great player.

“My uncle was a big Liverpool fan and he’d always come over to our house and bring me video tapes. I remember picking up the official history of Liverpool FC video, which ran from the very beginning until just after we won the double (in 1986). I must have watched that tape about twice a day – it was great.

“It gave me great inspiration and I fell in love with the history of the club and everything about it – and the rest is history.

“That’s what I was drawn towards and in the school playground I’d be pretending to be my favourite player. It’s really special for me to be here.”

    Wrestlers are divers.

  4. Mr. Sparkle says:

He might not follow football religiously but that doesn’t mean he’s not a fan of the club. Besides, you don’t have to be a fan of Liverpool to want to give Gary Neville a good pounding.

Funny someone who looks like that talking about another person’s lack of good looks. Reminds me of a pot and a kettle.

  6. Gaz says:

I second that. Lets not forget he is ginger

  7. Greg says:

Legend. Not the first wrestler to visit a British club. Here is a video of Wade Barrett visiting Preston North End during their relegation woes last season.
There is also definitely a photo of John Cena wearing a Spurs shirt next to Gerry Francis

  8. illuminatiks says:

and now i’m a new fan of sheamus.

  11. […] We’re always surprised when anyone with ginger hair opts to grow more of it. Especially after the childhood of wedgies and ridicule they were doubtless exposed to. That makes the England cricketer’s mo all the more impressive. Plus, if the cricket career doesn’t go so well, he could earn a handy living as a doppelganger for Sheamus of WWE. […]
