Manchester City 1-2 CSKA Moscow – Champions League – 5th November 2014

A brace from Seydou Doumbia sent Man City to a shock home defeat on Wednesday night, a result which leaves the Citizens needing to beat both Bayern and Roma if they are to have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.

The Citizens were poor throughout and went behind to the visitors after just two minutes, with Doumbia powering a header past Joe Hart. A Yaya Touré free-kick levelled the scores soon after but hosts were always vulnerable at the back, with CSKA’s winner coming on 34 minutes.

After the break, City’s night went from bad to worse with both Touré and Fernandinho sent off as their hopes of a decent Champions League campaign were dealt an almost fatal blow.
