Queens Park Rangers 2-2 Manchester City – Premier League – 8th November 2014
Manchester City’s inconsistent season took another turn for the worse at Loftus Road on Saturday, with the Premier League champions dropping two valuable points.
The home side were superb from the off and after a disallowed goal (courtesy of a bizarre situation where Joe Hart’s fluffed free-kick saw him kick the ball twice, thus ruling out Charlie Austin’s subsequent goal), the Hoops eventually took the lead when Austin fired home. However, before the break, the superb Sergio Aguero had levelled the scores.
After the break, an Austin centre saw Martin Demichelis out through his own net as the Hoops looked set for a deserved victory. However, that man Aguero was on hand again to save the Citizens, latching on to a long pass from Yaya Touré which was missed by Richard Dunner) before firing past Rob Green.
Despite the late equaliser, Manuel Pellegrini won;t be pleased to see his side drop two points and go eight behind league leaders Chelsea. Harry Redknapp’s QPR, on the other hand, are just one point off the bottom despite a good display.
