Burnley 1-0 Manchester City – Premier League – 14th March 2015

Manchester City’s inconsistencies this season look like costing them the Premier League title, with a defeat away to Burnley a disastrous result for the current champions.

The Citizens struggled to click throughout the game, although both Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero did go close. However, the moment of the match came courtesy of George Boyd’s sweetly-struck effort on the hour-mark which gave Joe Hart no chance.

Late on, the Citizens should have had a penalty after Pablo Zabaleta was felled in the box by Ben Mee but overall, Manuel Pellegrini’s side deserved little from the game.

City are now five points behind leaders Chelsea, with the Blues having played two game fewer, while the Clarets remain in the bottom three, albeit only a point from safety.
