Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini made the most of the international break to take trip to Ireland’s beautiful south-west, with the Chilean’s presence in the town of Cobh prompting local club Cobh Ramblers to jokingly refute rumours of a major managerial signing in the summer.

Pellegrini was spotted around the town, which is near Cork, and was happy to have his photo taken with locals. Cobh Ramblers, the club where Roy Keane started his career, currently play in the second-tier of Irish football and were quick to see the funny side of Pellegrini’s trip, with local amateur side Douglas Hall also getting in on the act…

With the Pep Guardiola era coming to the Etihad this summer, one wonders where the affable Mr. Pellegrini will actually be plying his trade come August (it won’t be in Cork!).
