Gabriel Jesus has formally completed his move to Manchester City, meaning the 19-year-old is eligible to line out against Tottenham on Saturday.

The Brazilian international agreed a a five-year deal with the Citizens back in August but stayed on with Palmeiras until the end of the Brazilian domestic season, helping his side to the Brazilian Championship title.

However, now the highly-rated Jesus has officially joined City, despite initially being linked with a move to Barcelona.

Speaking on the big move, Jesus said:

I want to win titles and Manchester City is a club that is used to winning. City is a club that always competes for the title in the competitions it enters, so that was an important factor, and because of the manager, Pep Guardiola, and the squad.

With City currently outside the top four and enduring a challenging first campaign under Guardiola, the Spanish manager will no doubt be hoping his new man can help kickstart his side’s fading title hopes. (*insert ‘saviour’ puns here*).
