John Stones netted a brace as Manchester City got their Champions League campaign off to a superb start, via a 4-0 drubbing of Feyenoord in Rotterdam.

It took only two minutes for the Citizens to open the scoring, with centre-half Stones heading home his side’s fastest-ever goal in the competition.

On 10 minutes, Sergio Aguero doubled the visitors’ advantage courtesy of a lovely finish from a Kyle Walker centre.

City were simply too good for their Dutch hosts and went 3-0 up on 25 minutes, with Gabriel Jesus tapping home after Benjamin Mendy’s effort had been saved by Brad Jones.

In the second period, Feyenoord were much improved.

However, it was City who would score the fourth and final goal of the game, with Stones rising like a salmon to score his second of the game courtesy of another header.

The game would end 4-0, with Pep Guardiola’s star-studded squad already looking like serious Champions League contenders.
