Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick as a rampant Manchester City put six past Watford at Vicarage Road.

The goalfest got underway just before the half-hour mark, with Aguero heading home a Kevin De Bruyne free-kick.

The Argentinian made it 2-0 soon after, slotting in from close-range after a fine pass from David Silva.

Gabriel Jesus got in on the act before the break, firing home from an Aguero pass, although the Brazilian looked offside.

No doubt after a few choice words from manager Marco Silva, the Hornets started the second-half better and created a few decent chances.

However, just after the hour-mark, the Citizens made it 4-0, with Nicolas Otamendi nodding in Silva’s corner.

The goal of the game then came on 81 minutes, with the unstoppable Aguero jinking through the Watford defence before firing past Heurelho Gomes.

Late on, Raheem Sterling got on the scoresheet, blasting home from the penalty spot after he was felled in the box.

The 6-0 win meant that City had scored 11 goals on their last two visits to Vicarage Road, while they’ve also scored a whopping 15 goals in their last three games.

Ominous stuff from Pep Guardiola’s side, who return to the top of the Premier League table.

As for Watford, they weren’t as bad as the score suggested and will have far easier days this season.
