Manchester City made it 28 points from a possible 30 after a 3-2 win away to West Brom on Saturday.

The league leaders dominated the game and went ahead on 10 minutes when Leroy Sane’s thunderous beat Ben Foster in the Baggies’ goal.

However, the hosts got back on level terms just three minutes later, with Jay Rodriguez scoring from a Gareth Barry assist.

City almost instantly took the lead again, when Fernandinho’s deflected effort went in off the post.

After that five minutes of madness, the game settled, with the Citizens creating chance after chance.

However, via some wasteful finishing, Pep Guardiola’s side wouldn’t score again until just after the hour-mark, with sub Raheem Sterling scoring from close-range after a superb team move.

At the death, sub Matt Phillips got one back for the hosts after Nicolas Otamendi tried to chest the ball back to ‘keeper Ederson.

The game would end in victory for City, who stay five points clear at the top after a game which saw them rack up 844 completed passes, the most in a Premier League game since stats boffins started recording this data in 2003/04.

As for Tony Pulis and co, they won’t face tougher opposition this season, with their two-goal haul against an in-form City a decent achievement in itself.
