Raheem Sterling is making sure that kids from his old school won’t miss out on the chance to watch him and Man City take on Brighton in the upcoming FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Having himself grown up on an estate right next to the national stadium as a youngster, Sterling has shelled out for hundreds of match tickets that will be given to the pupils at the Ark Elvin Academy – formerly Copland Community School, the school the City winger attended as a boy.

According to the Mail, Sterling has paid for 550 tickets, plus transport, for kids to enjoy a day out – including a personal meet-and-greet session with him at City’s training ground on Thursday.

They will then travel back down to London and make the short hop from their school to Wembley in time for the big match on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking to the Mail, an “insider” said:

Raheem wanted to do something for the kids from his old school and approached the club to see what could be done. They are going to come up and meet him and then they are going to watch him in action.

It pretty much sums up the kind of guy he is. He hasn’t made a fuss over it and he doesn’t really want attention. It’s just a decent thing to do.

Race ambassador, anti-tabloid warrior, defender of justice, goal-scoring behemoth. Man, Sterling really is the goodest egg in the Premier League carton. Easy to forget that he’s still only 24-years-old sometimes.

When the Mail are running positive exclusives about him, you know something major must have flipped at some point.
